Snapshots of Past Weeks Activities

We have not been doing much lately since Emily's final exam was last week and this coming week. There's not much that I can do but just making sure that she revises as much as possible and be there to ensure she doesn't fall asleep while revising :)

As for me, I have been cooking daily and baking bread or rather buns every weekend. Kids love eating them, which they bring to school as their breakfast but my supply can lasts for half a week only, approximately 24 buns.

We invited a good friend and her family to our place for potluck last weekend. I prepared laksa, pizza, cheese n ham buns and cheesecake for desserts. It was great to see Jared and her son enjoying each other's company even though they seldom meet :)

Today I wanted to eat Vietnamese food, so I prepared my favourite Vietnamese pork over vermicelli noodles. The recipe is rather simple but preparation time can be quite long. I also bought the Vietnamese springroll skin but didn't have time to prepare. Will save it for next round.

This was yesterday's dinner, pork ribs served with brocolli, fried eggs, baked Australia Red Potatoes, baby tomatoes and capsicium.

Jared's Little Scribble

Jared was very excited to show me the gift that he has gotten from his classmate's birthday celebration in kindy when I picked him up on one of the evenings. It was a writing board with a pen and some chalks. He was busy scribbling while I was driving and this was what he showed to me. He has certainly made my day :)

Learning Taekwando

Awhile ago, Jared has hinted us that he wants to join taekwando classes after seeing his cousin brother demonstrating his TKD movements to us. We were doubtful as he has just turned 5, even though his cousin also started about this age. We found a centre operated by the same instructor as his cousin's but at different location. Kids as young as 4 are accepted as long as they have good attention span.
Last Saturday was his first class and he was surely excited about it. After class, he came home feeling really happy and showed us his movements and refuse to remove his TKD uniform :)

Hobby in Green

I do not have green fingers. I have killed every plant I've ever owned. However I am still interested to grow some plants at my new home.
So last CNY, I took back some plants from my MIL, who definitely has green fingers, and she has a wide knowledge on gardening. I also got some Thai Basil plants/seeds from a friend. After so many months, I am so happy that my adenium is finally flowering and the basil is also growing but very slowly.

Last week I managed to get 4 porcelain pots at RM3 each, which I think is a very good deal. I have yet to find time to transfer some plants over to the new pots and I plan to plant more herbs
and vegetables in the backyard. Wish I have more time to indulge in this hobby.

Mid Autumn Festival

Today, the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in Chinese calendar, we celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival, which also known as Mooncake Festival or Lantern Festival.
Kids are happy because they get to play with lanterns and most importantly eat mooncakes, which are their favourites.

In hokkien, it's known as Leng kak. This is the first time my kids saw this and they think it is too errie to be eaten :). It looks like some kind of alien, isn't it ?

Happy Mid Autumn to Everyone...
