I have been pretty occupied for the past 3 weeks since Jared was born, nursing him most of the time, changing diapers and trying to steal some sleep for myself . The moment he wakes up, he will cry for milk and kicks his leg. Sometimes I am so amused with his actions. Besides that he aslo poops alot and I was changing diapers almost every hour or even more. I try to use cloth diapers during the day time but I noticed that he slept longer when he was wearing diapers as he would wake up when the cloth diaper was wet due to his pee. But I am avoiding diapers as much as possible as they caused some rashes on his delicate skin. I am glad my MIL is around to help me during my confinement, cooking all the nutritious food. Both grandma and grandson are bonding well too, I can sense the happiness in her when she is with Jared.
Currently Jared is fed with my breastmilk as well as formula as my supply is insufficient to fulfill his needs. Now I am expressing milk every 2.5 hours and feeding him using bottles. Total supply for a day is only about 22 oz. Hopefully the supply will increase and I can totally remove formula milk.
His sleeping behaviour has also changed after the 2nd week, sleeping very little during morning and afternoon time and always crying for milk when he was awake. At night time, he will wake up twice to be fed, interval of 2 - 3 hours. Sometimes I will call him an alarm clock because he is so punctual and woke me up exactly 2 hours after his previous feeding :)
I am glad he is also gaining weight well, at 20 days, his weight has increased to ~4.3kg.

wahh... Jared is growing so fast. you can try to drink soy milk. The protein in soy milk is easy for human to absorb.
ReplyDeleteJuju : Thanks for your comment. I have been taking the organic soya milk powder since I was pregnant and am still taking, some people say it helps to increase milk production.
