Jared at 8 months
He has become very active, as such it is very challenging when it comes to changing his nappy, or to dress him up. There was one night where he crawled backwards and fell off from our bed, thankfully there were no bruises though he cried quite a bit.
Physically, he is still not crawling much (kind of lazy), able to sit and stand up when holding on his baby cot. His babysitter told us that he can wave goodbye when other kids wave and say goodbye to him, however we have yet to see this act from him yet :)
He is a happy baby but can be cranky at times. He responds by smiling and laughing excitedly whenever people talk to him. He loves to play with Emily and when he cried, Emily will act like big sister to soothe him, suprisingly he would stop crying... LOL
He sleeps very little during the daytime. He would cry if we try to put him to sleep in a lying position. And guess what, we caught him sleeping in a sitting position, LOL.
However he would sleep around 8pm till the next morning without waking up for any night feedings.
As for teeth, we could see 2 bottom incissors already. He now puts almost anything into his mouth that comes within his reach, so we have to be extra careful not to have small items near him.
He is taking both mommy's milk and formula. He still drinks milk only when sleeping. Already eating cereal and rice porridge. Food that I have introduced to him include brocolli, millet, white/brown rice, sweet potatoes, potatoes, pumpkin, dragon fruit, persimmon, steamed bananas and fish meat.

Goodbye kindergarten, Primary One Here I come
Is she excited about all this ? I would say Yes and No.. occasionally she would tell me that she is going to miss her current friends and teachers and at times looking forward to entering school.
There are a couple of things which we need to prepare before she starts her primary 1, including getting her uniforms, school shoes, bag, stationeries and bla..bla..bla…
As for hubby and myself, life will be a little hectic for us too as her new daycare is quite a distance from where we stay. Imagine having to send Jared to the babysitter and sending her to the daycare which are both in different directions and yet be in office on time for early meetings.. Phew..

Happy Birthday Daddy
Emily : Mummy, how are we going to celebrate daddy's birthday ?
Mummy : We will buy a cake for daddy only, no time to go for dinner bcoz you have class on that night.
Emily : [Face turned sour]....
Phew... I thought she was going to be disappointed as she seemed to associate birthday with dinner which we used to do previously but I guess she has grown up and able to understand more now. Daddy also received a birthday card from his little girl.

Jared at 6 Months
He definately likes to play with Emily, will be all excited whenever Emily played or talked to him.
When we purposely place his toy a little further from him to attract his attention, he will somehow make his way to grab it, but not through crawling. Tummy time has definately helped to strengthen his hand and neck muscles. He now loves to be on his tummy and changing nappies is a challenging task as he kept wanting to roll over.
We also noticed that he could understand the word "No" :). The other day when hubby left the camera near him, he pushed himself towards the camera and pulled it towards his mouth. When hubby mentioned the word "No eating" a few times, he immediately stopped putting the camera near to his mouth. There were many other scenarios which proofed to us that he could understand this word :) He is also very happy each time we say "Counting, 1,2,3,4,5", will be smiling and looking attentively at our fingers. Whenever he fussed while we were cleaning him up for the night, switching on the nursery songs will help to calm him down, looks like he loves to listen to nursery songs.
As for his milk intake, he still refuses to drink when he is awake, noticed that he prefers EBM more than formula. I really hope this habit will end soon. I will be introducing some vegetables and fruits to his diet this weekend so that he will experience more varieties of food. His PD has cautioned us not to give him any citrus fruits until around 1 year old.
