Bento Fun

I have always adored those mothers who spent time to make bento sets for their kids. It is a good way to present food to the kids, especially the picky ones. Just by looking at the nice layout of the bento makes me feel hungry :).

This weekend, I managed to prepare very simple bentos for Emily, just for the fun of it. I do not have those fancy bento sets which I love so much but still hesitating to get them since they are kind of pricey. Instead I used a container which comes with 3 compartments. For Saturday's dinner, I prepared roast chicken, baked potatoes, omelette and stir fry spinach. Something simple that can be ready within an hour, but I must admit the deco is horrible :)

For Sunday's lunch, it was the same left-over roast chicken, sweet and sour fish fillet and steamed okra. Though it's not those nice bentos that I have seen, it has definately boosted Emily's appetite and she gave her thumbs up for the sweet and sour fish :).

Vacation in Singapore, 2010

2 weeks ago, hubby brought Emily to Singapore for a 1 week vacation. Thanks to hubby's ex-USM housemate, JenMei, for allowing them to "squat" in her nice condo located at Harbour Front. As this is Emily's 1st visit to Singapore, she was really excited about it. Hubby did a terrific job planning out all the places of interests to visit each day.

It was really convenient to travel to all the tourist spots using MRT. However Emily did complained of muscles-ache after walking so much throughout the 7 days, never had she walked so much in her life :). She kept telling me how excited and brave she was to go on the roller coaster in Universal Studio. Looks like she has become braver, when she went to Disneyland 2 years ago, she dared not go on it. Hubby teased me that I am more "chicken" than her now as I will never have the guts to do so :)

Day 1

- Science Centre

Merlion

Day 2
- Universal Studio

- Songs of the Sea

Day 3
