BreastFeeding...

I have been expressing breastmilk for more than nine months. Jared has stopped latching on to my breast even before his fullmoon, reason is I find it too tiring for me as my supply was pretty low during that time. I can't deny that breastfeeding does take lots of time especially for working mothers like me. It needs lots of determination and support from your family and also peers. I am so glad that I have gotten many great advices from the mothers in my company who goes to the "Mother's Room" with me. They have given me tips on how to increase my milk supply, ranging from food to take to how to fully clear milk from the breast. Amazingly my supply shot up after the 3rd month.
I would say the advantages of breastfeeding are countless. All in all, it has been a great experience so far and I hope to continue expressing till at least Jared is 1 year old.

Look at the amount of milk available in the refrigerator of the Mother's room. Many times some mothers mistakenly took other mother's milk and had to return the next day :)

My New Kitchen Assistant

What do I dislike most about cooking ? My answer would be chopping and mincing. But now I do not need to worry about this anymore, thanks to my new Kenwood 550 chopper.

I have always love cooking spaghetti as my family loves this dish but the thought of peeling and chopping the large quantity of onions, shallots and garlic and mincing the chicken meat really bothered me. To try out my new toy, I decided to cook Bolognese Spaghetti on last Sunday.

To save preparation time, I bought the ready peeled garlic, onions and shallots from the wet market. All I did was wash and throw them into the chopper. Voila… in less than 1 minute, everything was finely chopped to the texture that I require. Next comes the chicken fillet, which I roughly sliced it into chunk size and let the chopper minced it. I only had to manually sliced the button mushrooms which is a simple task. I was so excited that I totally forgot to capture any pictures of the raw ingredients but I definitely remember to take picture of its final results.

Practice Makes Perfect

After weeks of exploring his new toy, Jared has learnt to handle the ball so well and drops it into the basket pretty accurately. This is definately his favourite toy and he will play with daddy when he comes home from the babysitter in the evenings.

We also notice that he holds almost anything using his left hand, which brings us to the suspicion that he could be a left-hander, inheriting from daddy.
