Jared's Preschool Craft Work

2 weeks ago, Jared's pre-school gave him a teddy bear to decorate at home. Mummy, being not so creative decided to take the easy way with the decorations. I took some colored papers and cut out a butterfly, a love shape, a hair band and a watch. Then Jared colored the butterfly with my help, applied some glue and stuck them to the bear.. He was definately happy and excited to bring the bear to school.

Left / Right Hand...

Something really funny happened this afternoon. Emily was teaching Jared to do some colorings. She was holding his hand with a crayon. When I came over, I insisted that he should hold his crayon using his right hand instead of left hand. When he refused to change, I went over to him and took the crayon from him and asked him to change hand. To my surprise, he showed me the hand that he was holding the crayon earlier and said, "This is my right hand ma... Keep ask me to change". I bursted into laughter upon hearing this as I then realised that he was actually using his right hand ... Mummy is so blur , not able to differentiate between left and right, instead my 3 yr old to-be has to tell me which is which... shame on mummy.

Happy Valentine's Day 2012

Just as any other years, we do not celebrate Valentine's Day. This evening when we went to pick Jared from his babysitter's house, he was very excited to show us something that he brought back from his school. It was a little box with a heartshaped cut out foam and a Happy Valentine's Day poem for Daddy and Mummy. It was really thoughtful of his school to prepare this little gift. While in the car, he suddenly said, Happy Valentine's Day, Daddy, Mummy, Jie Jie and Jared.. It was a surprise to us to hear him say so, he must have learnt from his school teachers.

Silly Topic ?

Tonight while doing revisions with Emily, I suddenly brought up the topic of what happens if I am no longer in this world to take care of her. How she must be independent and move on with her life as well as possible. She was so sad that we both shed tears and then bursted out in laughter, thinking of how silly to have ended up in such conversations..
But don't you think we should some how prep our kids, I feel is better for them to at least have some idea than totally lost if any tragedy really occurs ??

Bad Luck - Maybe - Good Luck - Maybe

Yesterday, something bad happend to me. I met up with 2 of my ex-colleagues for lunch at Nando's. It was a great meeting as we had so much to catch up, mostly about kids and also about house renovation. As we were about to leave the restaurant, I suddenly trip over and fell flat on the floor.. ooopppssss. It happened in split seconds and I wasn't able to protect myself, then I realised that my 2 front teeth actually hit on the floor and chipped, GOSH.. I could see some white debris on the floor tile as it was my teeth enamel, I guess.. It was kind of painful but I could still stand up and walk, thankfully. But I was really worried and sad coz my precious teeth are damaged already. When I went back to the office, I skyped hubby and told him what had happened. He was totally shocked, I guess. He then insisted that I should go to the dentist immediately. I tried to call a few dentists but couldn't get to make any appointments on that day. Hubby was really desperate, he actually called up a dentist and made up a story of the seriousness of my damaged teeth.. hahaha...silly him.
I took time off and went to the clinic, accompanied by hubby. Had to wait for quite a while before it was my turn. The dentist told me that in some cases, the teeth might have permanent damage. She can't tell at this moment, I will need to monitor if they ever turn greyish, that's when I need to have them extracted.. sigh....
Then she told me that she will perform dental bonding on the chipped area. However I will never be able to bite on anything hard from now onwards... Extremely sad when she told me this as all my teeth are original, never have anything done on them before.
There were some bruises on my right knee, tiny pain on my left ankle, most probably a little twisted and some bodyaches. Thankfully, my face is fine, no bruises at all.
Now when I try to recall how it had happened, I really don't have a clue, I definately didn't pass out at that moment..
So is it considered bad luck or maybe good luck since I didn't have any major injury ??????

CNY 2012

I didn't manage to take too many photos during CNY this year. Here are some for our sweet memories.

Emily with her favourite cousie..

Jared is starting nursery..

Jared has started attending half day nursery since early this year. For the past few weeks, he would cry whenever we sent him there in the morning. Instead he wanted to go to his babysitter's house. When asked if he likes his teacher, he will say yes. Last friday, he seemed to be happier, maybe due to the CNY celebration on the previous day. Some friends told me that their kids cried every morning for 6 months. Hopefully he will be able to overcome his anxiety sooner than that.
However we noticed that he has learned to become more independent in some situations, his babysitter told us that he now prefers to eat on his own instead of being fed.
