Learning Taekwando

Awhile ago, Jared has hinted us that he wants to join taekwando classes after seeing his cousin brother demonstrating his TKD movements to us. We were doubtful as he has just turned 5, even though his cousin also started about this age. We found a centre operated by the same instructor as his cousin's but at different location. Kids as young as 4 are accepted as long as they have good attention span.
Last Saturday was his first class and he was surely excited about it. After class, he came home feeling really happy and showed us his movements and refuse to remove his TKD uniform :)

Hobby in Green

I do not have green fingers. I have killed every plant I've ever owned. However I am still interested to grow some plants at my new home.
So last CNY, I took back some plants from my MIL, who definitely has green fingers, and she has a wide knowledge on gardening. I also got some Thai Basil plants/seeds from a friend. After so many months, I am so happy that my adenium is finally flowering and the basil is also growing but very slowly.

Last week I managed to get 4 porcelain pots at RM3 each, which I think is a very good deal. I have yet to find time to transfer some plants over to the new pots and I plan to plant more herbs
and vegetables in the backyard. Wish I have more time to indulge in this hobby.

Mid Autumn Festival

Today, the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in Chinese calendar, we celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival, which also known as Mooncake Festival or Lantern Festival.
Kids are happy because they get to play with lanterns and most importantly eat mooncakes, which are their favourites.

In hokkien, it's known as Leng kak. This is the first time my kids saw this and they think it is too errie to be eaten :). It looks like some kind of alien, isn't it ?

Happy Mid Autumn to Everyone...

A Journey Into Bread Baking

I was inspired by JY to start baking my own bread.  It took me many months before I finally indulged in this baking frenzy. This also means that I have to sacrifice some of my precious sleeps to prepare the dough in the early hours before my family is awake or late at night :).
Thanks JY, if not for your encouragements, I still won't be baking any breads.
So far I have baked dinner rolls, using the same recipe, I have also baked cinnamon rolls with nuts, cinnamon rolls with banana, sausage buns and corn custard filling buns. Kids and hubby like the breads very much as they are fresh and soft. Looking forward to try other types of bread recipes.
