The Beginning of Our Four-Eyed Girl

My biggest fear has finally haunted me. Emily has been complaining about not being able to see word written on her classroom white board when seated far. This was some time in June this year. Initially we took her complaints lightly as we thought she made up the story in order to wear specs like most of her schoolmates. According to her, wearing specs makes her look pretty.. YIKES!!!
4 months ago hubby brought her to an optical shop to check out her power. The right side was good, but left side has a power of ~100. We hesitated and decided to onhold making spec for her, hoping that it will not get worse. Then last week we decided to bring her to another optical shop as she kept saying she was having problem to copy notes from the whiteboard. This time her left eye power shot up to 150 but the right eye is still good. Thankfully she only has mild astigmatism and no need to be corrected. Hubby chose the Myopia Control lens for her left side lens and we paid a bomb for her spectacles. Hopefully she will take good care of it and crossing fingers that her power will maintain.

Upon seeing jie jie's spectacles, Jared wanted to wear too, so daddy made him one too. How cool...

  1. Yeah, I guess this is one of the many fears for every parents too. I keep my finger crossed that my boys won't need to wear spec at very young age...sigh.

Anyway, this is not so big deal in modern days any more considering so many methods we can choose to make things better for them. Furthermore, the glasses are getting more and more trendy and stylish that it becomes one of the fashion. So, no worries, ok.
