Mid Autumn Festival

Today, the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in Chinese calendar, we celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival, which also known as Mooncake Festival or Lantern Festival.
Kids are happy because they get to play with lanterns and most importantly eat mooncakes, which are their favourites.

In hokkien, it's known as Leng kak. This is the first time my kids saw this and they think it is too errie to be eaten :). It looks like some kind of alien, isn't it ?

Happy Mid Autumn to Everyone...

  2. Good to see Emily and Jared enjoying themselves playing with lanterns and eating moon cakes. Did you peel the water caltrops for them to eat? After peeling it is white in colour so should not be errie to be eaten. :)
