We checked out from the hotel very early in the morning to catch the bus from Kintetsu Namba Station to Takayama. We had pre-booked the bus tickets the day before after returning from Nara. Taking the bus is convenient as it took us directly to Takayama, total journey was about 5.5 hours and cost 4700 yen for adults and 2350 yen for kids. The whole journey was very comfortable as the driver followed speed limits and we all managed to take short naps in between.

Wefie :) Bus was practically empty. |
We reached Takayama station at around 2pm. From the station, we walked to J-Hoppers Hostel, where we were staying for the next 3 nights. It was a 5-10 minutes walk from the station.
Japanese Ryokan Style Triple Room |
Staying in a hostel was a very good experience for the kids. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are shared. We met many Malaysians and tourists from across the world. Most of them were friendly. The staffs at the reception were very friendly and spoke good english. We managed to get a lot of sightseeing information from them.
After check-in and refreshing ourselves. we strolled around the town. The scenery was lovely and the cool air was very refreshing.

After the scrumptious dinner, we headed back to our hostel to call it the day.
